The percentage of women aged 50 years or older who have had a hysterectomy decreased from 36.6% in 2008 to 31.7% in 2018. The rate of hysterectomies in the United States has remained fairly constant over time. In 1994, there were some 556,000 hysterectomies performed for a rate of 214.7/100,000 persons (not just women).
