Stats of the States
Posted on by“STATS OF THE STATES” is a popular feature on the National Center for Health Statistics’ web site that spotlights the latest state-by-state data compiled by NCHS. Stats of the States predominantly consists of vital statistics (Births and Deaths, as well as Marriage & Divorce), but also includes data on miscellaneous topics such as health insurance and wireless phone use, from the National Health Interview Survey. In 2013, Stats of the States was expanded to include three new measures: Firearm mortality, Homicide mortality, and drug poisoning deaths.
Though only the 50 states are featured in Stats of the States, the total U.S. rates for each subject include data from the District of Columbia, and total birth data includes figures from surrounding U.S. territories.
