The environment is frequently in the news—from climate change to healthy communities, from chemical releases to hazardous substances in air and water. Of course, the main concern about such issues is the effect they have on human health.
We at the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) are working to promote safe air, water, food, waste management and energy production to improve human safety and well-being. Our physicians, scientists, public health analysts, and epidemiologists study, investigate, and reach out across the nation and around the world to educate and protect individuals and communities and improve their quality of life.
In this blog, we hope to increase public knowledge about environmental health by sharing our concerns and our work as well as information you can use in your daily life. Please join us in this dialogue! Follow @CDCEnvironment on Twitter and use the hashtag #CDCEHblog.
