Susan is the Disease Manager for Pneumonia and Sepsis at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. She has been a practicing, licensed RN for 34 years and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for 12 years. Her primary practice has been cardiology, critical care, and emergency care. She has been in her present position at Northeast Georgia Medical Center since 2012. She is the Chair of the Sepsis Task Force and the Pneumonia Management Team. Her job encompasses many facets including patient rounds, patient and family education, staff education (to include nurses, paramedics, physicians and advanced healthcare providers), community education including surrounding colleges, universities and technical schools. She also does research and participates in many community activities.
