Kim James, MS/FNP-BC RN

Kim James is a Nurse Practitioner and Director of Occupational Health Services at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. More than two decades ago, Kim became a Registered Professional Nurse. Her duties as an Emergency / Critical Care Nurse included caring for culturally and ethnically diverse patients during traumatic and psychological emergencies. This experience naturally evolved into a career as a Nurse Practitioner. Kim received her Masters of Science/ Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2009 from The State University of New York at Stony Brook and is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In her role as The Nurse Practitioner in charge of Occupational Health, Kim provides in-services on related to Health Care Worker Safety, for new as well as seasoned, multi- disciplinary staff.  Ms. James has served as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at SUNY Downstate University at Long Island College School of Nursing and routinely makes presentations on Injection Safety/Needle Stick Safety to both student clinicians (Hunter-Bellevue College School of Nursing) and practicing clinicians (Clinical Care Nurses of NY), on behalf of the New York One & Only Campaign. Kim’s goals include “So infusing everyone with the information regarding Needle/ Injection Safety that it will emit from our pores.” She plans on doing so while wearing her trade mark “High Heel Shoes!”
