Chief Medical and Scientific Officer , Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), is responsible for fellowship training, faculty relations, IHI’s innovation, research, and evaluation program, and several translational research and results-oriented projects. He is also the principal IHI liaison to a number of strategic allies, including academic and professional societies. Dr. Goldmann’s career in clinical infectious diseases and epidemiology (with a focus on hospital-acquired infections) spans more than three decades. He remains on the infectious diseases clinical staff at Boston Children’s Hospital, and he is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard School of Public Health. He co-directs a Harvard-wide T32 pediatric health services research training program. Dr. Goldmann currently serves on the boards of the National Public Health and Hospital Institute and AcademyHealth.
