Debra Johnson, RN, BSN, CIC is the 2016 APIC Annual Conference Committee chair. An infection preventionist with Stanford Healthcare in Pacifica, CA, Deb has worked in the field since 1986, working in both the acute care and outpatient arena. She was one of the authors for the original 1999 APIC “Requirements for Infrastructure and Essential Activities of Infection Control and Epidemiology in Out-of Hospital Settings: A Consensus Panel Report.” This report set the stage to develop infection prevention strategies in ambulatory settings.
