Steven Stroika has been with the PulseNet Database Team for almost 3 years. He is a 2004 graduate from the University of Georgia with a bachelors degree in Biology. Steven has been involved in analyzing molecular subtyping data for many high profile outbreaks including the E. coli spinach outbreak in 2006, Topps ground beef in 2007, Kroger ground beef in 2008, and currently the cookie dough outbreak of 2009. He is knowledgeable not only in E. coli, but also in Listeria, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, C. botulinum, Vibrio cholerae, and Vibrio parahaemyliticus. Steven has written abstracts for various conferences and co-authored a chapter in the Campylobacter ASM publication.
