Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) welcomes comments from its readers.  Comments are moderated using the PCD Comment Policy below.

You can comment on selected articles published in our journal. To make use of this feature, follow the “Comment on this article” link  https://blogs.cdc.gov/pcd/ of  the article abstract or full text.

PCD reserves the right to decline to post a comment if in its absolute discretion it believes it would be inappropriate to do so, and reserves the right to remove a comment at any time.

Comments must comply with applicable policies, regulations, and laws. Comments will not be accepted if they appear to be indecent or offensive, or contain negative content of a personal, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or religious character. We will not post comments that appear to be libelous or otherwise legally problematic.

PCD will not post comments that give information on individual patients. You should specifically ensure that no personal identifying or private medical information about a third party is released, especially information restricted from release under the Privacy Act or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Comments may also be refused for the following reasons:

  • Comment is not in English
  • Comment is poorly written or incomprehensible

We cannot include graphics, figures, or tables within a comment. If your response is substantial, you may wish to consider submitting a Letter to the Editor http://www.cdc.gov/pcd/for_authors/types_of_articles.htm#Letters.

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers or e-mail addresses in the body of your comment.

Reporters are asked to send questions to the CDC Communications Office through their normal channels and to refrain from submitting questions here as comments. Media questions will not be posted.
