This includes tracking deaths from the eighth leading cause of death, Influenza and Pneumonia.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana\">The most recent findings (2006)\u00a0are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana\">Number of deaths from Influenza and Pneumonia, 2006:\u00a0 <span style=\"color:#ff0000\">56,326<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana\">Age-adjusted death rate for Influenza and Pneumonia (deaths per 100,000 population): <span style=\"color:#ff0000\">18.8<\/span> (down from 21.3 in 2005)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana\">However, influenza by itself is not as deadly.
