Gemma is currently an infection prevention epidemiologist at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Her responsibilities include infectious disease surveillance, epidemiological investigations, state and local health department collaboration, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards compliance, antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, and staff education around infection prevention practice. She has been in her role since 2008. Ms. Downham has been certified in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology since 2010. She received her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2008 from Drexel University.
